She is an Ophthalmologist, specializing in Adult and Pediatric Strabismus surgery. Dr. Bañuelos is fellowship trained in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. She received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Bañuelos completed her internship at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton, Massachusetts, followed by her ophthalmology residency training at Charles R. Drew University, Department of Ophthalmology in Los Angeles. She has been in practice for more than 20 years, seeing general adult ophthalmology patients for the past 10 years. Dr. Bañuelos was the Director Retinopathy of Prematurity Services at Diamond Children’s Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Association of Pediatrics Ophthalmology & Strabismus, and the American Medical Women’s Association. Dr. Bañuelos connects well to her patients of all ages and makes sure they are given the best care possible. She enjoys working in a team environment and collaborates well with subspecialists and optometrists alike.
